No Fly Zone Now

Letter submitted to SJ Mercury News:

We have the legal right to directly assist in creating a no fly zone over Ukraine. As part of Ukraine’s agreement to denuclearize, Russia agreed to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty. Russia lied about its intentions in the build up and is now in the process of trying to takeover all of Ukraine. The UN Charter allows member countries to request self-defense assistance. Ukraine is asking for our help. Putin’s threats to use of nuclear weapons will be a card he plays over and over again as long we allow it to be effective in refusing to confront his forces directly. Peace at any cost is capitulation to tyranny.
